Subject : New Paradigm & Collaborative Learning.
After vacation, teachers had a refreshing empowerment programme which was organized by EZ Vidya committee members on 5th & 6th June 2013.
They did it in two sessions which were ‘New Paradigm’ and ‘Collaborative Learning’.
In first session, teachers had case study and experienced new techniques such as Bingo, Mutual Negotiation, Self-Portrait, Down Memory Lane and Story-as-trigger. They were instructed to follow the exciting experiences in the classroom with students.
In second session, they were stressed on the ‘Collaborative Learning’ which is an umbrella term for a variety of educational approaches involving joint intellectual effort by students or students and teachers together. Teachers understood the challenges and benefits of ‘Collaborative Learning’.
By this programme, the teachers have been empowered and enlightened and they are ready to meet the students.

The second Teachers Empowerment Programme of the academic year 2013 – 14 was held on 24th August 2013. It was organized by EZ Vidya Co-ordinators Smt Radha Ganapathy & Smt. Priya.
This session on ‘Multiple Intelligences’ exposed teachers to the theory and its possible implications for the classroom. This session brought the message of ‘Multiple Intelligence’ such as Linguistic Intelligence, Logical-Mathematical Intelligence, Spatial/Visual Intelligence, Musical Intelligence, Bodily-Kinaesthetic Intelligence, Interpersonal Intelligence and Intrapersonal Intelligence.

They stressed that each student could have any intelligence among the above mentioned which even the parents could not recognize ,but the second mother, the teacher could and developed them.
As a conclusion, this programme offered a lot of scope for developing confidence in children and the most interesting thing is that no child can be branded ‘unintelligent’!

Topic : Classroom Management
The third programme of Teachers Empowerment session was held on 7th September 2013. It was taken under the topic of ‘Classroom Management’. A session on ‘Emotions & Empathy’ helped teachers to understand their students better. It combined with a session on ‘Class Room Management’ enabled teachers to better manage their class room.
Totally this session stressed to have psychological approach on children and bring them up to attentive way and educate them.
